Measles outbreak

Measles is an infection that spreads very easily and can cause serious problems in some people. Having the MMR vaccine is the best way to prevent it.
Measles usually starts with cold-like symptoms, followed by a rash a few days later.
Measles is a highly infectious disease which can lead to serious complications such as severe lung infections and inflammation of the brain. It also damages and suppresses the whole immune system meaning children can be left much more susceptible to catching other illnesses.
If you think your child may have measles
- call NHS 111 or your GP for advice
- Do not attend A&E, Walk-in centre, Urgent care centre or pharmacies
- Isolate until you have spoken with a clinican

Get vaccinated. If you have missed any MMR doses, please call the surgery on 01902 333408 to book an appointment with the Practice Nurse.
There are also local pop-up clinics for children aged 5yrs and over & adults

- Vaccination van located outside Poundland in Walsall Town Centre, Lower Hall Lane, St Matthews Quarter, WS1 1PU, Saturday 3 February, 9am to 3pm. To book an appointment call 01922 902035 or walk in.
